Review: Down home Louisiana cooking meets Portland at this unassuming restaurant away from the glitz and glamour of downtown dining. Catch is flown in directly from the Gulf and you can taste the difference at Acadia. It’s the only place in the city to grab upscale Creole cooking - but crowds at this restaurant are drawn more to chef Adam Higgs excellent creations than the type of cuisine.

Monday nights and Wednesday lunches are especially popular weekday meals, due to a cheap eats menu and the only time of the week you’re able to grab Acadia’s food mid-day.

Acadia has an awesome menu, the best pork chop ever, and good, friendly service! Thanks for turning me on to this place.

There’s Roux now, too, for even more Creolish (ie, haute NOLA) options. Have you tried Roux or Lagniappe? Lagniappe is probably a better value, except Mondays, but I think I like the food at Acadia a little better. I’m looking forward to trying Roux, though.

I live only a few blocks away from Roux, so I am excited to try it before the holidays. It certainly has received a lot of attention, especially in that neck of the woods!
