FLORENCE, Ore. — After Gordon Weaver left his wife for dead in their White Bear Lake (Minn.) home, he decided his own life would go on. He jumped $300,000 bail and made his way to the West Coast, where he called himself “David Carson” and became deeply involved with an Oregon family — eluding police for four years.
