Info: The Portland Marathon has been billed as the “Best Organized Marathon in North America” in the Ultimate Guide to Marathons and the “Most Walker Friendly Marathon in the Country” by Runner’s World magazine. The 2005 marathon boasted more than 13,000 participants in the run, walk, mayor’s walk (10k) and 5-miler race.

2005 winning times were under 2:30 for men, 2:45 for women.
