Oregon’s heavy-hitting sportswear companies are back in the news again. Nike, based in Beaverton, is doing everything it can to “to outrun Adidas in soccer sales“.
Adidas has a legendary foothold on the sport - even sponsoring this year’s World Cup. With a large headquarters in North Portland, the competition with Nike hits even closer to my ‘alternative’ sport-loving home.
Nike has taken a step to knock down Adidas’ place on the soccer podium by designing some of the 2006 World Cup jerseys. However, futbol fans haven’t been particularly kind to the shoe giant. Check out BootsnAll’s site dedicated to the World Cup and add in your own two cents.
