Portland may not have professional football or baseball, but its got one thing most cities don’t….lacrosse.
Yes, this January, the Portland LumberJax roll into town for their inaugural season. With their 20+ squad of (mostly) Canadian citizens, these big boys will be playing some heavy hitting games.
The team plays one game a week from January through April, on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Each team in the NLL (National Lacrosse League) squares off at least once. LumberJax games take place at the Portland Rose Garden.
Don’t know a thing about lacrosse? Don’t worry, they don’t expect you to. However, you’ll probably enjoy it more if you brush up on this primer. Season tickets start from $90. Check out their website at www.portlandjax.comfor more info on tickets and game times.
